Job Title: Bookkeeper
Department: Accounting
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
Performs accounting support tasks within accepted accounting
principles and practices.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Deposit daily cash receipts to appropriate bank accounts
according to Company policy. Record deposits into computer
system including, but not limited to, agency-billed items,
direct billed items and miscellaneous income.
2.
Coordinates the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and
annual financial statements, including profit distribution
and involving system design and modification to achieve
reporting accuracy, efficiency and flexibility.
3.
Review all vendor invoices for appropriate approval and
utilizing accurate codes for proper GL and department
postings.
4.
Maintains investment records.
5.
Review general ledger to insure accuracy prior to month-end
closing.
6.
Prepares various month-end reports for management.
7.
Process surplus lines policies through the FLSO software
daily or as needed. Review and process for payment monthly
and quarterly FSLR.
8.
Review A/R Report weekly for collections.
9.
Reviews all finance contracts for accuracy and then process
all contracts as appropriate.
10.
Reviews and monitors all Commercial Lines audits for proper
and timely collections or for the proper and timely filing
of disputes or uncollectible audits.
11. Performs
other related duties as assigned.
